Emitters of CO<sub>2 <\/sub>covered by the UK ETS are obliged to surrender allowances for those volumes of CO<sub>2<\/sub><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">. CCS will remove this obligation for the CO2 that is captured and stored, so any additional emissions caused by that CCS should also be included.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li>That CO<sub>2 <\/sub>NPT emissions should be counted as zero for vehicles with zero emissions at the tailpipe, and emissions factors should be set for broad types of drivetrains for other vehicles, rather than reported exactly for each vehicle. The Committee\u2019s view is that this would give the best balance between accuracy and simplicity of reporting.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>That no additional UK ETS allowances should be released. CO<sub>2 <\/sub>NPT is not an additional <span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">sector or subsector of the economy being added to the UK ETS, but rather a <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">decarbonisation measure for sectors and subsectors already in the UK ETS, so it would not <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;\">be appropriate to release additional allowances for it.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>"}],"cover_image":53203,"downloads":[{"file":53202,"label":"Download this letter","cover_image":53203}]},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
